About Coathanger ComicsHi, and thanks for visiting. My name's Martin McDaniel, and this comic strip is my creation. Being a bit of a geek and an avid webcomic reader myself, I wanted to find a way to give back to the webcomic culture. I considered maybe making my own strip, but I didn't really have any good ideas for the longest time. One day, I was idly thinking about what various objects around the house might do when they're left alone while I'm at work. When I started thinking about my coathangers, I cracked up laughing. I mean, those poor things are kept hanging from a rack in a dark closet except when I need something from them. I imagined their perspective would be like that of dungeon prisoners! Well, I'd found my idea, but I still wasn't sure how exactly to make it. Then I lucked out. Chatting online in the past, I'd made friends with a couple of the fine folks at Area 23. Those guys have plenty of experience setting up domains and PHP web stuff. Well, I was talking to one of those friends and mentioned my project idea. He said they had also been considering delving into the world of webcomics and would be happy to take me under their wing! With their generous donation of time, effort, disk space, and more, we got this website set up. I hope you enjoy reading it as much as I enjoy making it! -Martin |
